Summer Camps

What are you doing with the kids now that school is over?! There are soooo many camps going on around town, so I compiled a list. There are many more but I hope this brings to attention the diversity around the state. If your child is attending one that is not on the list, please comment below so I can add it!

Anchorage/Eagle River/Mat-Su

Trailside Discovery- Gotta be my FAVORITE camp because I spent 2 summers teaching there.  Can't say enough great things about it! For kids age 4-16 and there are locations in Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer,  and Wasilla. Kids are always outside and learning about Alaska!

Aurora Kids- Anchorage-Ages 3 on up! Themes like cheerleading, bike safety, dance, sports, pirates and more!

Arctic Gymnastics- Anchorage-For Kindergarten on up there are weekly themes, play outside, and field trips! Contact to find out more, 563-3330
Anchorage Museum- Ages 6-15. Kids will be engaged in robotics, nature exploration, fizzy lab experiments and more!

Anchorage Parks and Recreation- Ages 3 on up. Visit the guide to learn more about the ballet, music, outdoor recreation, and adventure camps there are!

Girl Scouts of America- Camp Togowoods (Wasilla), Singing Hills Day Camp (Chugiak) There are several different camp options to choose from for girls entering K-12 in the fall from June till early August.

Color Me Mine- Anchorage-For kids ages 7-12 designed to enhance each child's learning and appreciation of art. They will focus on a different theme and ceramic painting techniques each session.

Alaska Dinner Factory- Anchorage- For kids ages 8-12, "kids will learn food safety practices, measurements, temperature control, thermometer calibration, easy prep, and meal planning. Each day the students will make a 3-serving entree and sides to take home and cook for dinner that night. Lunch will be included."

The Learning Farm- Anchorage- "Campers will be offered a structured program with educational animal curriculum, hands-on learning and experiential activities to tie it all together."

Camp Fire USA- Anchorage/Eagle River- Ages 4 on up! Several different camp options to choose from. All day to over night trips!

Love 2 Create in AK- Wasilla-For kids ages 7-12 will do a combination of cooking and craft projects.

Brett Memorial Ice Arena- Wasilla-All ages for several different classes. Learn to skate, to play and swim! Call 907-376-9261 for more info!

Darin's Fencing and Fitness,LLC- For kids 6 and up as well as parents! Learn to fence!

NSI- Talkeetna- Denali Adventure for high schoolers.

Homer

HOWL- HOWL takes youth ages 10-21 on expeditions into the wilderness of AK to learn leadership, stewardship, and outdoor survival skills.

AK Coastal Studies- Ages 5 and up. Learn about the great outdoors and the nature that surrounds Homer!
